Zoe Elizabeth is an NC based artist who works primarily with black and white acrylic. Her limited palette is a result of briefly starting out with charcoal, during which she developed a fondness for working within the limits of light and shadow. Now, her particular interest lies in how lack of color impacts emotional response to certain, often violent, imagery. She often uses imagery associated with sadomasochism to evoke feeling and introspection in the viewer.

Zoe has no formal training the arts, but was informally taught acrylic techniques by her mother, a life-long artist.

“If you can talk about it, why paint it?
